Marilyn Manson: The boy that you loved to the man that you fear...

One of the most puzzling beings on this planet Marilyn Manson, carries an unorthodox level wherever he goes and whatever he does, that contains a combination of fear, confusion and misunderstanding.

Born January 5, 1969, as Brian Hugh Warner in Canton, Ohio. Tainted by the knowledge of the contents of his porno-obsessed Grandfather's basement, Manson developed a growing passion for sex. As well as being influenced by dirty-minded 'friends', such as a neighbour who constantly felt and caressed Manson's genitals (who also ended up murdering Aleusha, Manson's Alaskan malamute dog), and going through disturbing experiences; like discovering an aborted fetus. His insecurity, and disrespect for himself led to becoming intent upon being kicked out of Christian school. He was determined to get into local high school, so he could become less picked on by the attendants there. And also, so he could be accepted for liking heavy metal, which was introduced to him by a friend called Neil, who also went to the Christian school, and had the same views as Manson on the whole thing. Several attempts were made to try and be excluded, including selling candy, rock tapes and putting together filthy magazines, with sex-inspired home-made adverts. However, on each attempt, Manson failed - only to realise that pupils that did such vile and frowned upon things were reserved for much worse punishements when they left.

Eventually, Manson graduated to High school, where he met several teenage girls, consequently 'teen dabbling', to discover what sex felt like. In those years at high school, Manson became interested in magazines such as Night terrors. He sent many stories and poems, however none were ever published. After his futile attempts to make name for himself this way, he became a music journilist in the attempt to become closer to fame and celebrities. Although he only slipped in by lieing incessantly to various companies. But he always felt as if the answers were too boring and always wished he was on the opposite side of the mic. So Marilyn Manson and the Spooky kids were born!

In 1989, Brian Warner, now rechristened, Marilyn Manson, in a cross between Charles Manson and Marilyn Monroe, 'combining two extremes', he went a-searching for band members, and grouped together Brian Tutunick ~ Olivia Newton Bundy, Scott Mitchell Putsky ~ Daisy Berkowitz, Perry Pandrea ~ Zsa Zsa Speck and Fred Striethorst ~ Sara Lee Lucas. Whilst looking for hopeful band members, Manson also met Jeordie White, who later, would join playing bass, as Twiggy Ramirez.

The band's first performance took place in Miami, and a mere twenty actually showed up. But Manson had been traumatized by a terrible stage experience as a child - in which he played Jesus. In the crucifix scene, he wore a tattered terrycloth towel as a loincloth, with no underwear. Only resulting in older classmates ripping it off him, having him run through the corridors naked. So when the tiny crowd actually began applauding, you can imagine the feelings of pride, accomplishment and self-satisfaction he was experiencing.

Within a few months however, Brian Tutunick and Perry Pandrea were kicked out of the band. So Manson recruited his other two volunteers to join, to make up for the loss of bass and keys. Gidget Gein (Brad Stewart) replaced Brian, and Stephen Bier took the place of Perry as Madonna Wayne Gacy, or Pogo, as his band mates called him. In 1991, Fred Streithorst joined the band to play drums, because Manson had decided it was time to get a real drummer, instead of a drum machine. However in 1994, he too was kicked out of the band, for he was a heroine junkie. A liability for the band. And so, Jeordie White finally got the part he and Manson always wanted him to have. Rechristened, Twiggy Ramirez played bass until 2002, when he was replaced by Tim Skold.

In 1994, the band released their first album, Portrait of an American family. (However, Gidget Gein was still in the band as this point.)

From a teenager, Manson was into drugs. And severe depression and stress didn't help the matter. Just before the release of Antichrist Svperstar, he experienced an overdose, and consequently ended up in hospital. From this frightening point on, he decided to make him and his band more indebted to the whole point of their music career. After attending his cousin, Chad's wedding, he got the band together again, after they'd reformed with Kenny Wilson as Ginger Fish, playing drums in place of Zim Zum (Tim Linton), who joined the band in 1996 when Sara Lee Lucas left.

The band finally got their act together, and made Antichrist Svperstar - which is considered their best album. In 1998, they also went on to make Mechanimal Animals, and Holywood: In the shadow of the valley of death in 2002. Now they currently have Stephen Brier, Kenny Wilson, Tim Skold and John Lowery (also known as John 5, who joined in 1998) in the band, which have also produced The golden age of grotesque in 2003. They plan to continue their budding career, and have just released their newest single, 'Personal Jesus'.
